Based on the concepts of Andragogy and Bloom’s taxonomy SGT University has revisited the syllabus, curriculum, evaluation or assessment both formative and summative for the year 2017.
It shall be applicable for the academic year 2017-18. The newer concepts of continuous formative assessment throughout the year and its rational weightage upto 40% in all subjects where there are no constraints of their respective council have been introduced. As per the recommendations of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the proportion of theory and practical both at teaching and assessment have been introduced as 50%:50%, thus giving equal emphasis on theoretical and hands on and practical training.
The university has also given emphasis on the continuous weekly, monthly, end-semester assessment which shall constitute 40% of the overall assessment over the year and the summative assessment shall constitute 60% of the total marks. Thus the ratio of formative and summative assessment is 40%:60%.
