Minutes of meeting

The meeting of IQAC education group coordinators was conducted on 6th September 2018 at 2:00 pm in Room no 306, Third floor, A block with the following  agenda :

  • Update of Teaching methodology implementation reports of July and August 2018
  • Discussion and planning of faculty-specific FDP schedule
  • Discussion about Students Log Book
  • Cooperation to the Publication Division

The following members were present:

The faculties from which no coordinator/ representative attended the meeting were as follows:

1) Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
2) Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology
3) Faculty of Education

The following were the proceedings of the meeting:

  • The meeting started with the address to all the members present by Chairman of the meeting Dr T.D Dogra. The coordinators were asked to submit their monthly teaching methodology reports of July and August as soon as possible and the chairman urged them to compile and send the report by 1st of each month without any intimation.
  • Dr Shobha Broor, Chairperson, Publication Division asked the coordinators to nominate one faculty member who shall coordinate with publication division for compiling and updating of all publications in soft copy and hard copy.
  • The tentative FDP schedule was distributed to all coordinators and suggestions were asked about the new topics to be included or the groups formed.
  • The suggestions which came from the coordinators were as follows:-
  1. Discussion/ demonstration of case study to be included for faculty of commerce and management
  2. Tutorials to be included for Faculty of Physical Sciences
  3. Faculty of Pharmacy, Agriculture wants to be included in the participant group as some new faculty members have joined.
  4. All the faculty members suggested that Deans and HODs should also be included in the workshop.
  5. All the coordinators urged to organize FDP program for a 1-week duration to get recognition from UGC and to keep the timings from 2:00 – 4:00 pm instead of 9:30 am – 1:00 pm.
  • On the exclusion of faculty of allied health sciences, dental, medical, nursing from the present capacity building programs it was explained that since these faculties are big, a different strategy shall be employed to cover all the faculty members.
  • The discussion about Students log book shall be undertaken by Dr Vijay Bhalla in the next meeting.
  • The meeting ended with vote of thanks by the chairman for the meeting Dr T.D Dogra.
