Minutes of Meeting

The meeting of Consultancy group coordinators was conducted on 10th March 2018 at 2:00pm in the Dental committee room with the following agenda:

  • Revival of the consultancy proposals from each faculty
  • Discussion of financial issues with the Chief financial officer

The following members were present:

  7. Dr. Ravi Malhotra, SGT College of Pharmacy
  8. Dr. Sheetal Kalra, Faculty of Physiotherapy
  9. Dr. Shourya Tandon, Faculty of Dental Sciences
  10. Ms. Sabiha Farhat, Faculty of Mass Communication
  11. Ms. Swati Yadav, Faculty of Fashion & Design
  12. Ms. Kavita, Faculty of Fashion & Design
  13. Ms. Ambika Nair, Faculty of Hotel management
  14. Dr. Lokesh Gupta, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences

The following were the proceedings of the meeting:

  1. The meeting started with the welcoming of the coordinators from the faculties by the Director IQAC who also expressed concern about the absence of some of the coordinators and said that whatever be the activities running in any department, the meetings should be attended by the coordinator or their representative from the faculty.
  2. The update on the consultancy proposals was given to each member and it was mentioned by Dr Dogra that all the proposals should be relooked and the changes as discussed in the last meeting should be incorporated and the revised proposals should be sent to IQAC within a week.
  3. Once the proposals from each faculty are obtained they shall be categorized into the products which will be taken up in the consultancy outlet/store. The final proposal will then be submitted to finance department.
  4. It was discussed with CFO that a separate account Head under the name Consultancy should be established so that any earning from the consultancy can be separately added in the account as it is required to be shown during the NAAC inspections.
  5. There were also discussions about the outlet location, space etc and it was decided that approval from the management shall be taken for the same.
  6. Some suggestions were given to Fashion & Design, Physiotherapy for the consultancy proposals and they were asked to incorporate the same in the revised proposals.
  7. The meeting concluded with the stress on the concept of consultancy by the Director IQAC that now guidelines are being changed and NAAC and UGC are advocating that every University should earn 30-40% of their expenditures from sources other than the student fees and it was mentioned by Dr Dogra that in the near future, salary of the faculty shall be governed by the earning made by the faculty. So all the faculty members along with Deans should seriously look into the proposals for effective revenue generation.
